The New Ohio septic system rules took affect on January 1st 2007. Any Septic system with a permit before that date can install the septic system within the next year according to the old rules for their county. Any septic system that gets a permit now will have to use the new rules. If you have a lot that has a letter of approval for leach lines you will be able to install leach lines as your septic system without having the soil re-evaluated and a new septic system designed accordingly.
